It is hard to believe that I have written so many pages and put them on my Web Site, but I guess it is true. They are all there.
This morning I want to talk about the importance of Thinking Good, Clean, and Uplifting Thoughts.
If we don't concentrate on good thoughts then there will undoubtedly be evil, unkind and dangerous thoughts that will creep into our minds. And that is terribly harmful to anyone who harbors such thoughts. It will inevitably take you in the wrong direction and not only get you into trouble, but it will spell trouble for whoever you live with and whoever you associate with. No one likes a person who is always finding fault or ridiculing another human being, regardless of whether or not he feels the same way. Because everyone gets tired of those who are constant in their complaining attitude.
Many years go James Allen wrote an interesting little book entitled, "As a Man Thinketh". He told it like it is. We are the sum total of what we hold in our minds. Think unwholesome thoughts and you will tend in that direction. There is no avoiding the outcome. Your attitude will corrupt the possibility to live a satisfied and fulfilled life. You will have problems with everyone you come in contact with. Your family, your associates, your church, your community and your world.
Just really think about that for a couple of minutes. And the opposite is just as true. Stop your critical attitude and see if you can see the positive side of the conditions in your home, your church, your comm- unity and your world. You will discover in no time how much condit-
ions around you will improve and you will become a happier and a more self-satisfied person. Everyone you associate with will recognize the change and life will take on a new perspective. Old attitudes will pass away and the new approach to life will set in.
Why not give it a try for a day, then a week, and then a month. Sur- prise yourself and keep track of how much better you feel and how much better your relationships with other people improve. Every time a negative thought shows its ugly head shove it completely out of your mind. Don't give a second to dig in. Cast it aside like a hot potato. You will never live to be sorry.
"A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the sum total of all of them." J. Allen
